What are the patterns of behavior & demonstrated?

As you can relate to the fact that everyone has a unique behavior pattern. The way one reacts to a cause id different than your reaction. This is because everyone has a different pattern of behavior. Behavior is basically how a group of people or a person reacts towards something.  Your behavior reflects your personality. Hence there are four different types of human personalities.

  • Optimistic
  • Pessimist
  • Trusting
  • Envious

This is per how a person reacts to situations. There are many social experiments done by scientists and students on an individual and a group of people to study behavioral changes person to person. The behavior pattern designs are based on the communication between people. If the communication is loud and aggressive then the behavioral patterns will be different than of calm communication behavior patterns between individuals.

Five behaviors

Psychologically there are eight types of behaviors. Each type of behavior is the reaction of a cause or type of communication. The behavior types include.

  1. Overt behavior
It refers to person who has no trouble in speaking of whatever comes in their mind. The person with an overt behavior would bluntly react to anything.
  2. Covert behavior
This is the opposite of overt behavior as a person with this type of behavior is more cautious and careful of what they speak and how they react.
  3. Conscious behavior
Person with conscious mind doing what they need necessarily. For instance, a person making dinner because its conscious mind has given him the message that the body needs food as its hungry.
  4. Unconscious behavior
It’s more of an abrupt response to the situation which is why your mind has no time to think and you react to the situation. Like screaming at a spider or an insect. The mind is Unconscious in this situation and the behavior is due to subconscious mind.
  5. Rational behavior
The behavior that is the reaction of a reasonable situation that you know is better for you so you will do that. For example, you will wait to purchase something when it comes on sale as you know that the option is better and you can save extra money from that.
  6. Irrational behavior
It’s the senseless and meaningless behavior. There is no clear object or reason for this behavior.
  7. Voluntary behavior
This behavioral type includes your free will to do something. You are clear about this action and you specifically are responsible for your action like taking a walk or driving somewhere with your own will.
  8. Involuntary behavior
This behavioral type is uncontrollable. It’s what your body chooses for you and you can nor control it. For example looking at the sun or strong light in the darkness you cannot open your eyes and see even if you want to, your body does not allow you as its harmful for your eyes.

Each behavioral type is connected to one another. Either is a positive or a negative reaction of a situation. Hence it is observed that the communication type or the environment in which a person is, the effects of this triggers positive or negative impact of a person’s behavior. If the individual is in a peaceful and enjoyable gathering than the behavior would be positive and lively. But if the surroundings are unpleasant then the behavior would be unpleasant as well.

Demonstrative patterns of behavior

Demonstrative patterns of behavior are observed everywhere in our daily routine. Understanding why one acts in certain way is all related psychologically. Every one reacts as per their personality traits.  Even observed that a group of people living together are likely to act in somewhat similar way. To an extent their reactions might be different but the behavior is more likely to be same.  The behavior is the reaction or an output of any action. There is negative reinforcement and positive reinforcement in behavior. The negative reinforcement refers to something negative through actions and positive reinforcement means something positive through actions.

Behavior can be reinforced by reward and punishments. This is how the parents shape their toddlers. With every positive behavior they give them a reward and with a negative behavior comes punishment.

Learned behavior

Learned behavior is the outcome of experience, more likely it’s the result of observed behavior. These behaviors are not trained in anyone they are just the result of observation a person adopts these learned behavior patterns by observing. There are four types of learned behaviors.

  • Classical conditioning
  • Operant conditioning
  • Observational learning
  • Insight learning

For example, humans are born with a few learned behaviors that are eat, sleep, poop and cry. These behaviors are built in and are the only way at first, they can communicate before they learn the rest. These are instinctual behaviors as soon as a baby comes out of their mother’s womb, they perform these behaviors. Then later the baby observes the parents walking and talking and then it also tries to copy them and after crawling it gets on its feet. Many of our habits and patterns are generated through our routine and friends circle, the way we interact with people and we learn the good qualities. People starting their new job learn from co-workers and bosses in shaping their self. Hence there is negative reinforcement in learned behavior also. Bullying is learned through abusive parenting and lack of attention. This counts as negative reinforcement.

Five Behaviors Cohesive Team

Behavior model changes with the reaction and action. As mentioned before the behavior is the influence of the surrounding and communication pattern. Cohesive teams have the ultimate competitive advantage as when there is team work and the team is high functioning then they can achieve its potential resulting in healthier and productive environment.  There are five behaviors of cohesive team.

  1. Trust one and other.
  2. When there is trust the team is not afraid to engage in conflicts around one another.
  3. Committed to decisions.
  4. Hold one another accountable
  5. Focus on achieving accountable results.
